ClearPath ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered resume tailoring service and the ClearPath Chrome Extension.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (for authentication)
• Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)
• Account creation date

Resume Data

• Resume content (PDF, DOCX, or text format)
• Parsed resume text
• Generated tailored resume variants
• Resume upload timestamps

Job Posting Data

• Job descriptions you save
• Job URLs and sources (LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Indeed, Glassdoor)
• Company names and job titles
• Job save timestamps

Chrome Extension Data

• Job details captured from job boards and ATS platforms
• Authentication tokens to securely associate job data with your account
• No browsing history, passwords, or sensitive personal information outside of job-related pages

Usage Data

• Tailor Pack generation count
• Credit usage and plan type
• Feature usage analytics (aggregated)

How We Use Your Information

• AI Processing: Your resume and job descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API to generate tailored content
• Service Delivery: To provide resume tailoring, coverage analysis, and recruiter feedback
• Account Management: To manage your subscription, credits, and plan limits
• Communication: To send service updates, usage notifications, and support responses
• Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our AI models (aggregated data only)

Third-Party Services

OpenAI

We use OpenAI's GPT-4 API to generate tailored resume content. Your resume and job descriptions are sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's data usage policy (as of Dec 2024) states that API data is not used to train their models. See OpenAI's Data Usage Policy.

Supabase

We use Supabase for database hosting and authentication. Your data is stored in Supabase's secure PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest and in transit.

Stripe

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's Privacy Policy: stripe.com/privacy

Data Storage & Security

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
• Access Control: Row-level security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data
• Backups: Automated daily backups with 30-day retention
• Location: Data stored in US data centers (configurable by region)

Data Retention

• Active Accounts: Data retained as long as account is active
• Deleted Accounts: All user data permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for 2+ years may be archived or deleted with 30 days notice

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all your data
• Correction: Update or correct your information
• Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export: Download your resumes, jobs, and tailor packs in JSON format
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails (service emails will continue)

Children's Privacy

ClearPath is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us to delete it.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
• Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
• Right to deletion of personal information
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising CCPA rights

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of ClearPath after changes constitutes acceptance.
